Hi, I'm Henry.
We live on a floating rock, or maybe a simulation. Whatever it is, this life is beautiful and exciting, full of emotion and opportunity, if you know where to look.
Above all, I am driven by curiosity and a will to leave a positive impact on the world. This manifests itself through a lot of academic enjoyment, but also a large amount of extracurricular reading around frontier deep-tech and machine learning.
Despite this, I think the most beautiful things in life are nature and community. These are core parts of the human experience and we should appreciate these as much as possible.
My interests are varied and I am passionate about many fields of science and art. Deciding what to pursue has been as much a challenge in my life so far as the work itself, if not worse.
I love building things, solving problems and collaborating with other interesting people. See my interests and currently building.
Currently building
FullHouse Hackathon
Co-founder of the UK and Europe's first and biggest agentic poker competition. I love poker and I love coding, this was a no-brainer and I'm so proud of what we've built so far. Can't wait to announce our sponsors and running our biggest events ever in 2027!
My work so has included engine and simulation work, end-to-end sponsor acquisition, website design, and various directive decisions. This is really only the beginning, we have big plans for FullHouse and can't wait to execute.
Love bringing intelligent people together, hearing their stories, and giving them an opportunity to shine in front of recruiters.

Private Mathematics Tutor
My father is a teacher. His frequent stress and long hours have deterred me from following in his footsteps, but I did inherit the passion for education. I now have SEVEN (!) years' experience tutoring maths and GCSE sciences with pleasing success. I find it inspiring and so rewarding to help the next generation realise their potential, and especially to nurture critical thinking in spite of the AI revolution.
For the past 4 years I've been working serious hours of 15–20h per week, which can be difficult to manage at times but has really conditioned me to juggling multiple threads, invoices, and clients’ individual needs. Recent highlights included taking an A-Level student from Cs in her mocks to A* in the final exam plus an LSE offer, and this year having two tutees qualify for the British Mathematical Olympiad. Steel sharpens steel, as they say!
Master’s Degree in Maths
At my core I'm just a fun nerd. University satisfies the nerd part mostly. Specialising in computational mathematics, machine learning and optimisation, sprinkling in a little group theory and analysis to keep things varied.
Currently on track for a first-class degree after my first two years at the University of Warwick. Escaping from Coventry to Munich has been an upgrade to say the least, but I miss the library and Tesco meal deals.
Experience
FH Research
Curiosity-driven independent research and simulations around requirements for fair poker bot evaluators, especially computational cost and variance-reduction techniques. Also broader research around different learning methods, changes under unconventional variants, and more.
When curiosity strikes, I like to act on it quickly. Very satisfying. I hope to contribute to more consequential research projects soon, across a wider range of material, to explore even more inspiring frontiers.

Apart from FullHouse, much of my experience is more undercover freelance bits and pieces. This includes a little bit of VC scouting in deep-tech, and a fun little software engineering project with a London startup, and more.
Another fun fact which I feel obliged to mention is that I got five A* grades at A-Level. The extra one was Computer Science, which I self-studied and sat at the end of year 12.
I was subsequently selected for the Dresden Scholarship, which allowed me to spend a month living and attending school in Dresden with a wonderful host family. This was a real eye opener, and I would recommend similar programmes to any ambitious or curious pupils.
Curiosities
We'll start with the surprising bits: I love linguistics and etymology, and am a big art history nerd, particularly architecture. Anthropology, psychology and the human consciousness are all fascinating fields which I always enjoy learning about. As you can imagine, this means I watch a lot of YouTube videos in my free time.
As mentioned earlier, my main areas of maths-related interest are in machine learning, optimisation, data science and frontier deep-tech (fusion, quantum computing, chip architectures etc). I think a lot about the future and I am very excited to see what exciting discovery we make next, and how society changes over my lifetime.
Thinking about the medium-term future often leads me to my main hobby: equities research. I have a large database of theses, supply chain maps and PTs on my laptop which I update frequently. Currently loving Nebius, Rocket Lab, SK Hynix, and my fave local company IQE (niche as always ;)). If you meet me and are interested, please ask me about these companies or others, I love discussing theses and themes for the next 2-5 years. And always interested to hear your best ideas!
Beyond the desk
As mentioned briefly earlier, I find no greater joy in the world than appreciating nature and the beauty of the world we live in. Munich and the surrounding Bavaria is a wonderful place to do this, which was a factor in my decision to spend the year here. I find peace in the mountains, where everything seems simple and problems fade away. I love hiking, trailrunning, and most other sports for that matter.
However, I often need more intellectual stimulation. This often comes from poker, chess or geography trivia (countries, flags, capitals, geoguessr). I find it extremely important to explore different cultures and connect with as many different people as possible. Each one helps me understand more about myself, my character and my place in the world. To this end, and because I find it very enjoyable, I have learnt various languages: Spanish and German to C1 level, Italian to B1 and Russian to A2 (working on it). It's a pretty great party trick.
I am a big music snob, so I enjoy curating playlists and having them accompany me through my life. I find it beautiful that there are some parts of the human experience that inexplicably inspire such emotion or mood. Watching a fire burning or a river flowing feels very much similar sometimes; a primal comfort which I hope humans will never forget.
